Karen Johnson moved to the Shreveport area in 2009 and began investing in residential rental properties later that year. She sold her Accounting Practice in Baton Rouge before moving to NW Louisiana, and was ready to expand her horizons. One of her favorite games is “Monopoly” and she says that investing in rental properties is like playing Monopoly with real money. Karen obtained her Real Estate License in 2019 primarily for her own investment activities. In 2020 she decided to become an active Realtor offering her services to home buyers and investors in NW Louisiana.
Karen holds a degree in Accounting from McNeese State University and an MBA from Louisiana State University- Shreveport. In her first career as a CPA, Karen was exposed to the complicated compliance issues in real estate when she served as an Internal Auditor in the Banking Industry. She was also the Loan Accounting Manager for a large regional bank, exposing her to the loan process from beginning to end. Karen also continues to serve business clients in her role as Executive Business Coach and Corporate Trainer. Her passion is helping others achieve their dreams. Serving as a Realtor allows her to help friends and neighbors find the home of their dreams.
Karen has been married to her soulmate, Kirk, since 1997. She has three grown children. One is recent graduate of University of Alabama. One currently attends Bossier Parish Community College and one has followed in her footsteps into real estate and is also an active realtor. She is the upcoming District Governor for Rotary International District 6190 and is an active member of the Rotary Club of Shreveport.
Karen Johnson was raised in Sugartown, Louisiana. Her career as a CPA took her to San Antonio, Texas and then to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She comes from a background of almost 40 years in business and brings her accounting and coaching skills to bear when working with her real estate clients.
